This was directed by Jason Naumann who has already shot the video for our song KFL and will also be directing a 2nd video for us very soon. This movie is very funny and definitely worth seeing. Plus I’ve got a cameo in it and if may say so, I didn’t ruin the scene. So please support help support a great independent comedy with a great cast. The movie is at 8:30 on Saturday at The Egyptian Theater. |

When Jay-Z started recording the Black Album he began by hand picking the best beat makers in the business including Just Blaze, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Timbaland, DJ Quick, and Rick Rubin. The Black Album went on to sell over 3 million copies in the US alone. Rick Rubin’s contribution 99 Problems was the third single released off the album and is considered by many an instant classic.

Are they hip-hop or alt rock or alt/hip-hop/rock? I don’t care what you want to call em they’re just frick’n awesome. So maybe they’re not the best emcees ever, maybe they’re not truly hip-hop but you what…however you want to classify them they’re still pretty rad. Ill Communication is a great record (maybe their best) if you don’t have it. Here’s yet another Spike Jonze video for my top ten lists. Like so many of Spike’s videos this one was shot gorilla style. Just out on the streets do’n his thing. |

Anytime an artist passes before while still in their prime it seems that we get bombarded with attempt after attempt by record labels and directors to get one last video out there for the fans. When Subline’s Bradley Nowell died of an over does shortly before the release of their self titled 3rd album in 1996 the band still managed to release videos for 3 of their songs, all of which had to find clever ways to cover for the fact that their front man had passed away. Eight years after the death of lead singer Kurt Cobain, Nirvana cut together footage from live performances, interviews and home movies for the video to You Know You’re Right. It seems that it’s difficult and very fine line to walk when making a video for an artist who has recently passed away. 15 days after the murder of Chris (Notorious BIG) Wallace his album Life After Death was released. The 3rd single off the album was directed by Spike Jonze. Please enjoy. |

Okay, so what do you get when you combine Madlib and MF Doom? Madvillain of course! This video is sick! Just sick! The song by it’s self is amazing. Madlib’s beat is so smooth and more than likely a major part of the inspiration for the later MF Doom / DJ Dangermouse collaboration of Dangerdoom. Throughout the entire album Madlid seamlessly mixes a steady stream of beats and old time radio clips to perfection while MF Doom spits his quirky yet incredibly intelligent rhymes. So please do enjoy my # 8 hip-hop video…. |
